Prince threw a Golden Globes afterparty

Posted by PaisleyPark3 at NPGMC:
Seems that rock royalty PRINCE has a new funky psuedonym for a real "throw down party" . The mastermind behind last year's best-selling tour is setting the pace for 2005 with a Golden Globes afterparty that sported an eclectic guest list that would make P Diddy take notes. An invitation-only soire that invited you to "3121 - instant access 2 the xperience" boasted beautiful Salma Hayek, Cate Blanchette, Penelope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey (who later sat in with the band for several sets on congas - and was pretty darn good to boot!).

Samuel Jackson and his lovely wife; Lawrence Fishburne, Gina Torres, Kasi Lemmons and Vondie Curtis Hall along with the quintessential "party man" P Diddy and AJ Calloway broke it down to James Brown.

Mos Def, Mekhi Pfieffer, Gabrielle Union, and Usher were spotted playing pool, snacking on delectable bites and sipping on cocktails while enjoying DJ Rashida's groove mix.

Adam Levine of Maroon 5 and Justin Timberlake took turns to sit with the band lending their vocal stylings to "real music" grooves that took the party to another stratosphere. Secretly I was waiting for soulful Nikka Costa to take the mic and really bring the house down! Herbie Hancock sat in on keys and James Valentine of M5 on guitar while Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey MacGuire, Drea DeMateo, Will-I-Am of the BEPs, Natalie Portman, Renee Zellweger, Elisha Cuthsbert and Trace Ayala enjoyed the cool relaxed morrocan-themed vibe, salivating in anticipation to see whether or not Prince would also join in. Sadly, he did not, but word is, you never know. Legendary songstress Joni Mitchell who purportedly would only stay a few minutes was the last to leave at 6 am.

Sigh. 3121 is the place to be apparently!

By the way, what is 3121?

A Prince afterparty without a Prince performance is a collasal waste of time. It's worse then a P Diddy party WITH a P Diddy performance.

Ok, so Prince threw a party and the NPG played with all these various celebrities getting up there and sitting in with them? And Prince never got up on stage to play or sing anything?

Maybe I'm cynical or crabby today or something, but ..so how is that so thrilling? confused

Also ,it would be cool if, like Zelaira already said, these reviews contained more interesting information such as what songs were played and who exactly constituted this band. I don't really care about all the celebrity namedropping if that's ALL there is to say about the party.

This writeup/review is like a big cake made of only frosting and NO CAKE!

Prince didnt play - who cares what songs were played?

Just like other afterparties save the High Star List. Nothing new.

I did notice aside from Justin Timberlake, there were no Ashlees, Avrils, Britneys. So there's that.

I guess the one positive to come out of this confusion is at least we know the NPG are up and running again (assuming the post is refering to the NPG??? confused) Also, I bet you "3121" is some sort of bible reference lol

It's amazing how ignorant some Orgers sound sometimes. "Who cares who played if he didn't play", "why did I read this how boring", you all sound like a bunch of spoiled little brats sometimes. Thank you papaj for posting this thread.
