You should listen to the Joni Mitchell version on Blue, and then listen to Green on that CD too, the whole vibe of that CD is kinda well, Blue I think he tapped in on that when he picked that song, obviously it resonated with him.

On a different note you guys should look for a live version of "When You Were Mine" performed by Ani DiFranco and Maceo Parker. Man she takes this quirky song and turns it into a complete tear-fest. Nothing like the Dirty Mind version at all. Maceo's great on it.

Another Lonely Christmas, Betcha By Golly Wow (if you think about Prince and his life/love/loss), also I think And God Created Woman is a pretty sad song, especially the verse "And if I never see you again..." And When Doves Cry, too. A darker song, to me, even though it's totally funky.

And call me crazy, but She's Always In My Hair tastes bittersweet in my mouth. Maybe I'm thinking about the girl, loving and getting her heart broken again and again. But I love the sad songs a lot!
