It's funny. I was just thinking of this movie today while I was playing The Question of U and Joy in Repetition in the car. I think Jill would have been much better in the title role. Her character in Purple Rain was sweet and in Graffiti Bridge her character was unlikable and unsupportive. Why was she so mad at Prince in the beginning of the movie? The Jill from Purple Rain would have gladly lounged around watching and listening while Prince created his music. I think the character of Aura could have been written out all together. I also think the Robin character had potential, but why did she stick around and take all that abuse and attitude from Morris? Some of the many mysteries unanswered in Graffiti Bridge.

Again, that's what made Graffiti Bridge so horrible. Prince has no clue how to write a movie. He got all the characters wrong. Not just Jill and Robin's characters. He got Morris ALL WRONG. Like anyone would believe the Time as a bunch of "gangsters".....

WHile I actually kinda LIKE the movie, I sometimes wonder what it would have been like had it been made with real actors.

This thread is off the hook!

One small nit to pick Nouveau... Sid and Marty Kroft did an excellent job of set design on Grafitti Bridge, in my opinion.

lol If only that were true! I loved Sid and Marty Kroft shows when I was growing up.

Oooh, everybody's here!
THIS IS THE THREAD OF THE YEAR! lol
I wonder how many times Prince watched his "Baby Graffiti" in the last 14 years?
Does He like it? If he does then I send him some Folk-tale DVD from my collection - I do think there R more senses in them than Graffiti Brigde! lol

I felt sorry for Jill Jones in this movie. At the beginning of the film, her boyfriend is The Kid,but he totally ignores her. Then, she gets a dead-end job at Morris' club, and the chance to sing with The Time. However, her "big performance" consists of lip-syncing the first chorus of a song, before Aurra takes over the rest of the song...lol...

Hear that?.... That's the sound of every red-blooded heterosexual man running out of the cinema

You knew it was coming didn't you?! The film's scariest performance, and one which is recommended viewing only through your fingers. You have been warned.

The dance moves range between the two inspirations of energetic masturbation and The Exorcist, and Prince's pouting in this track is truly the stuff of legend. I can only imagine his motivation for the scene was to imagine himself as a pretty little girl making goo-goo eyes at her playground Valentine.

Sure, we love it, we know what Prince is like, this performance is straight from the same page as the ending of Do Me, Baby - but even the most die-hard of us must realise that Prince is not cool in this scene.

Watch again at your own risk!

This is so true. I don't think I've ever laughed so much. This is the best post I've seen in ages.

I'd like to add the one moment that I thought was horrible was after Aura got hit by the car, the ambulance came 3 seconds later, picked her up real quick, and drove away. No police, no questions.

Cracks me up every time, though.

Plus the ambulance looked like a wind-up toy. I remember thinking that She wasn't even going to fit in that thing.

I agree This is the worse part of the whole movie. I just remember everyone in the audience laughing how they came and swept her away in time for the next song. Still would Stand Altime.

Still Wouldn't Stand to watch this movie again.

Definitely top five worse movies, right there with Showgirls which also has Prince music all in it.
