Prince and Mayte have dinner at NYC restaurant Definitely not an Empty Room!!!
New York Daily News' Mitchell Fink reports in an article entitled Prince and Consort, "It was a meal fit for a king. Or a prince. Or better still, for the Artist formerly known as Prince. On Saturday night, the diminutive singer pulled up to the San Domenico Restaurant on Central Park South in a stretch limo accompanied by a women who looked very much like his former wife, Mayte Garica. The Artist, sans shades, breezed through the main restaurant and settled in the private dining room area usually reserved for parties. But on this night, the room had been reserved for just him. It was decorated, at his request, with candles and flowers and afforded total privacy. Only three bodyguards and the maitre d' were allowed into the room, where the performer ordered freshly squeezed orange juice for himself and fresh canberry juice for his lady. But when it came to order the food, the Artist was dismayed to find that the much-desired minestrone soup was not available. Lucky for him, however, the chef Odette Fada was on hand and quickly whipped up some fresh vegetable soup, as well as pasta chitarra (tomato and basil) for the main entree. The Artist left shortly after midnight, arm and arm with his companion. The maitre d', Roberto Rizzo, said the singer looked very happy. "Once he had his privacy," said Rizzo, "he was open, and looking very much in love." | |
