Hey, I was wondering, Does the L4OA charity still exist? (Did it ever exist?, remember the closure of 7 Magazine for dare asking that very question, a la "Sham of the Year"). If it does still operate, does anyone know how much it makes, or where the funds go? Im not having ago at Prince here, im just wondering because i haven't heard him mention the L4OA charity for some years.

i believe it is prince' sister TYKA that named her children those names... i remember hearing her talk about how the whole family does things others would find odd... very respectful obituary....sad but tasteful.

It is very sad for anyone to loose their Mother,
But there is only one path,
And that path is what leads to the Everlasting Now!
I believe that Princes Mother was very happy to see her son in love, think about it!
"This one I can bring to Mammas house, I dont need to worry what goes in and out her mouth"....
"Can you feel it? Feel it, this mighty good feeling everywhere!"

I think her heart was happy.
Much Love to the whole family!

dnaplayer - I started a discussion about this a little while ago. No one was interested !! LOL
It's called Love4oneanother - charity or tax dodge ! I think it's somewhere in the General Discussion section.
The whole Love 4 One Another thing has always made me suspicious !? They've made about 4 million and only spent about 400,000 on charity work (I think!).

Have I been calling Prince by the wrong name all this time? I thought his middle name was Rogers, but I've also seen it with no S (like in this article). Could someone clear this up?

I hope Prince was on good terms with his mom before she passed. Didn't she kick him out of the house and he had to live with Andre Cymone when he was in high school?

In the book "Inside the Purple Reign" by Jon Bream, there is a photocopy of Prince's birth certificate with the caption 'yes his name is really Prince' on the birth certificate it says "Prince Roger Nelson"

The number of siblings that Prince has seems to keep changing...I don't recall hearing anything about him having a brother named Alfred until now...

Apparently, these are his brothers: Alfred Jackson, Omarr Baker, and Duane Nelson.

And these are his sisters: Tyka, Norrine, Sharon, and Lorna Nelson.

So, it seems Tyka Nelson is Prince's only full-blood sibling. All of the others are step-siblings.

May their beloved mother rest in peace.

I pray that Ms. Baker rests in peace.

If the grandchildren mentioned in this obituary belong to Tyka then I wonder why they don't have the last name of their fathers.

In royalty, a son born to an unmarried prince can not become prince so his title is sir.

Things that make you say HHUUUUUMMMMM!!!

Can someone tell me if Alfred Jackson is Mattie's son by another man, stepson, or other (?) I remember reading how Alfred was the one who influenced Prince to listen to James Brown records. And he's the one referred to on Cloreen Baconskin . . . I never realized Prince had so many half/step siblings besides John L.'s kids . . .

My condolences to Prince and his family.
I didn't know that Prince's mother had a kidney transplant. In many ways I'm glad Prince fiercely protects his privacy and that of his family's the way he has over the years. It's a welcome change from famous people who bare all or hold a press conference to announce their painful bout with a hangnail. smile
But in some small ways, I wish I knew more about him. Obviously, through his music I learn plenty, but I guess when news like this comes out, I'd like to know more about the man.
In the long run, keeping his private life private is definitely healthier for him. He probably won't go completely wacko like so many other famous people do. And what Prince has given me over the years, amazing music and live shows, is more than enough.
Thank you, Prince.

I am so sorry to hear of The Nelson and Baker family loss. So happy that Prince has Mani for comfort especially during this sad time. Prince always has the comfort of knowing that with his belief in the resurrection, he will see both his parents again here on earth under perfect conditions just as the New World Translation as well as any bible promises. Revelation 21:4. please feel free to read this.

Well, it's almost always stated as "Rogers" by the press, but it is "Roger" according to Prince's birth certificate that was reprinted in Jon Bream's book.

The same family that would name one of their kids, "Prince"! I have a feeling the other two kids use nicknames in their daily lives. I couldn't keep a straight face if I had to call someone "President" or "Sir". I used to work with a guy named "Napoleon" which was weird enough.
