I hope they REALLY followup too & boot these fools - it should be a rule that you show your ID @ the door or something, anything to stop this crap from continuing...

I think one of the reasons there was so much scalping of the Chicago tickets is because NPG did not use the Will Call -- show your ID method -- for premium members.

The Will Call method prevents club members who are not going to the show from using the password to buy premium tickets that they know they are not going to use. Some club members are making things difficult for their fellow club members in other states by buying tickets to scalp on eBay.

For example, a club member in Nevada or California can use the password to purchase premium tickets even though they have no intention of going to the show. The Nevada or Calif. club member then sells those premium tickets to ticket brokers or they sell them on eBay.

The Will Call method, which requires premium members to show their ID in order to get their tickets, might cause a bit of a slow down at the ticket window, but it will also help eliminate a huge part of the scalping problem.

i hope they do get rid of these s.o.b.'s, they are 1 of the many reasons the damn tix are so expensive.

I also think that if there were actually some really good seats on sale to the members during that pre-sale, members may not be willing to buy tix from scalpers. I live in Chicago and have tix for both shows and couldn't get closer than the 11th row for either, and that was logging in exactly when the tix went on sale and after an hour of trying to even get those seats. For the 3/3 show, I even found out they were on sale before it went live on Ticketmaster. I don't think that people should be scalping the tix, but I think that it was really difficult to get tix closer to the stage the way the system was set up. And I thought that that was the benefit of having a membership in the first place.

I wondered myself why they don't require an ID at Will Call or something...but maybe they think that would be more hassel than it's worth.

As a Belgian fan, it's easy to go to concerts in Germany, Holland, France, UK and Belgium.

So I hope NPGMC will NOT limit advanced access to tickets by State (for the US) or by Country (for Europe).

I agree with NewPowerSoul - hardcore fams do attend concerts in other states. How many people from other areas on this board went to the Vegas show in Dec 2000? If they require you to pick up at will call and show ID it won't matter where you are from. I hope they do this - I want good seats!!!

I have to admit that I somewhat agree with Kelly Ann. This site is not as user friendly as the last one. It is vey busy. I guess it's like anything new, we just have to have time to get used to it. I don't hate the new site, nor do I think it sucks, but it is taking some time to find things. I do however appreciate all the work that's gone into it.

I agree 100% that members who scalp or give out presale passwords SHOULD be booted. Period.

I think they should go back to the will call route with pic ID. That would prevent cross country scalping. BTW, report those ebay auctions to the club....

Last time Prince was in Dallas I ran into people buying the good tickets knowing they weren't going and sell them for $400. more than what they paid. PISSES ME OFF!!!!! I asked one why he bought the tickets in the first place and he said it was a great way to make a lot of extra money. I'm thrilled to hear they are policing scumbag activity. It makes me angry when folks just disregard the rules!

If this continues, then NPGMC will simply take the prefered seating privilege away from EVERYBODY..and then its back to camping out in the cold/heat/rain to get good seats....
