Yet another review of The Vault

This appeared in London Metro on Tuesday 24th August...

Prince: the vault - old friends for sale (3/5 stars)

"The title says it all really, but fans of the Artist when
he was known as Prince will welcome these tunes, written
from 1985 to 1994 and flaunting the trademark mix of sauce,
self-love and saxophone of that era. It's About That Walk is
pure sass, while When The Lights Go Down has the flashy but
harmonically sound orchestration Prince excels at, coupled
with some soulful lyrics. But what makes it all worth while
is There Is Lonely, a wrenching ballad with a strong backbeat
that will strike a chord with anyone who once smooched
sentimentally to the strains of Purple Rain."
