Here's the email:
High NPGMC,

A second date has been added in Chicago 4 March 3. Tickets r onsale 2 the general public right now, but we have set aside a number of top level seats 4 the NPGMC Members that the general public will not have access 2. We will post the details later 2day on how members can get them.

All members can check the Concerts page in the Members area 4 all the latest updates.

What does "top level seats" mean?

Does that mean good seats or seats way up the yop of the balcony?

Did these shows sell out already? I tried the Ticketmaster website, and can't seem to get anything. Man, I guess you snooze you lose. I didn't even know tix were going on sale until late this morning. Then I heard he added a show, and went on the website immediately and again, no luck.

Well hopefully he'll come to Milwaukee or maybe back to Chicago. If not, then I am making the trek up to Minneapolis in June!

The tickets for the second Chicago show were put on sale to the general public without notifying members of the NPG Music Club. People who paid $100 to join NPG Music Club were not told that there was a second Chicago show and were not told when the tickets would be going on sale.

Yeah, they did the same thing with the 2nd Atlanta show last time. They just added it without telling club members first. At least this time, they have some tickets put aside for club members. Of course who knows how many there are or what kind of quality they are, but I guess it's a slight improvement over the unfortunate Atlanta debacle (where club members had no special access to the aftershow either).

I want to know how many NPG club members got premium tickets in Chicago. I don't mean in the back or in the balcony. I mean how many NPGMC members actually got the premium tickets that club members are supposed to have access to?

I don't understand why they would do that...put the tickets on sale to the general public first. NPGonline has been told that NPG club members didn't get premium seats in Chicago.

All club members paid $100 to join the NPGMC. The members of the general public DID NOT pay $100 to join Prince's club.

Are NY and LA club members going to have the same thing happen? They will get seats in the back or no seats at all?

I have an extra ticket for sale for the March 2 Chicago show. It's a mezzanine box, row O3. Don't know the exact location, because the seating chart doesn't show box seats. However, I do know from experience that the box seats are located on the sides and back of the floor, slightly elevated. Will sell for face value ($85) or less. Can Fedex to buyer if I receive it by mail in time. Otherwise, can meet buyer in person at show.

I'm wondering how people did with the Chicago presale. I was not able to pull up any top price ($122) tickets despite having a T1 connection and looking for single seats. All the seats I pulled up were at the second price level ($85), so I took a pass. In hindsight, I should've bought one because they were better seats than what I pulled up online from the general sale.

There seems to be a lot of premium members who didn't get premium seats for the March 2 show. Now the same situation is going to happen with the March 3 show.

The March 3 premium sale is going to be worse for premium members because who knows how many tickets were already sold to the general public? There might not even be that many tickets available.

I got the 4th row center section for the Saturday show. Now i am COMPLETELY BROKE!!!! A rise from $85 at Summerfest 01 to $125 seems a lil extreme for the 'hot seats'! So now I will have to resort to eatin lima beans and drinking sink water for a month but will hopefully have wonderful footage of the concert in my head. neutral

I was online Saturday, Feb. 16 at the 10 a.m. hour. I had premium seats Main Floor Section 2L (left side of house), Row AA, seats 201 and 203 which is the first row (the even seat numbers are on the right side of the house). The orchestra pit did not come up, which I believe are the real premium seats.

The Chicago Theatere seats 3,942 people. The main floor is divide into 8 sections 1L-4L and 1R-4R. The first seats (not counting the orchestra pit) goes from AA-NN, then the single letters start, A-U. Sections 1L and 1R start at rows NN and end at Q.

People this is going to be a jazz like concert. I doubt anyone will get on stage with Prince. I think he's moving on to his next era in concerts. You only can see so much of people dancing with him on stage before it gets old. Let's prepare for exciting new things.

People that went to the Chicago Theater on Monday, February 18 and waited around had the opportunity to buy seats on the first five (AA-EE) rows and beyond. I know the concert is sold out and the only tickets left are through the NPG Music Club membership. These tickets will more than likely be orchestra pit and the front rows on the right side of the house.

I'm trying to decide if I want to go to the second show considering his after show will follow the first night. And I am going to the celebration.

First of all, the liklihood of a second Chicago show was reported here a long time ago, soon after the first 6 shows were announced. Someone noticed that the Chicago venue was reserved for a second night, and commented on it.

The choice seats mentioned above are the first great seats that I've heard of. Are you a Premium Member? Did 4th row center come from a ticket broker, the presale, or the general sale to the public?

Finally, I'm not sure how the tickets for the second show were sold in advance of the club members being notified. Just yesterday, I received 2 email messages from NPGMC announcing the second show, and promising that Premium Members would have access to the "top seats" during a special "members-only internet sale" beginning Thursday 2/21.

So maybe the public did have first access to the other seats, but it's hard to imagine that such a public event could have escaped the notice of all us org.-ers and club members who have been tracking the tour dates and ticket availability for these shows. Did the "average Prince fan in Chicago" learn of the 2nd show before this group? No way.

I wonder if anyone can report having a ticket for the March 3rd show at this time. Or check and see if there are March 3rd seats available on that other source - ebay! I have a feeling there are no March 3rd seats yet sold. In any case, I'm sure we'll know soon. It looks like passing on the nose-bleed seats for the first show was the right move. I hope to see the truly desirable seats for March 3rd available to members on Thurs.

DID PRINCE ADD THIS 2ND SHOW 2 COMPENSATE FOR THE CRAPPY SEATS MEMBERZ GOT 4 THE FIRST SHOW? HMMM....
DOES IT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE ANYWAY?

It sounds like u guys r saying this will only be a problem 4 the big cities.True?

I AM ALSO WONDERING WHETHER THE TIME THE TIX GO ON PRE-SALE IS IN MPLS TIME..OR WHETHER IT IS ADJUSTED TO FIT OUR TIME ZONE?????This may b something 2 think about. Im going 2 ask NPGMC.....brb yall.

Answer from NGPMC:

"High

Tickets 4 Chicago sold out immediately, and the presale was r biggest 2 date. Prince's biggest concert draws r always in Chicago and San Francisco. However, we r going thru the tickets now and weeding out all the double-orders and known scalpers. But many fans did get good seats, it's the ones who did not do as well that speak the loudest, as u may know.

All ticket times r established by Ticketmaster so we recommend u check with them. So far all ticket sale times of 10AM has been local 2 the show location (Eastern time 4 Ohio, Central 4 Chicago)."

Ur damn right I'd speak loud--If I got shitty seats!
I guess he wants us 2 sacrifice what's fair in the name of "positivity". :/

I'm pleased they are aware of the dissatisfaction among Premium Members regarding the Chicago presale. Yes, the show apparently sold out immediately (with the public ticket sale), but were there really 1500 Members vying for the seats on the first presale day?

Something is wrong with the way the March2 presale went down. I don't think the addition of a second show has anything to do with making it up to Premium Members, but certainly the latest holding back of the "top seats" for the 2nd show is an attempt to improve on the Prem Member ticket buying experience in Chicago.

The tickets for the second Chicago show were put on sale to the public before the club members were notified. A club member told me that the March 3 tickets went on sale at 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 18.

Members of the general public who were online on Feb. 18 trying to get tickets to the March 2 show received the surprise of having tickets for a March 3 show available.

In addition, this is the first I have heard of people being able to go to the Chicago Theater and get premium tickets. How did that happen? Why did the Chicago Theater box office have tickets? Why was the Chicago Theater selling premium tickets to walk-ups when those tickets were supposed to be for people who paid $100 to join Prince's club?
