Tracklist Rumors Spoke to PP, and this was the ordered tracklisting for 'Here On Earth.' I was told however that this is a 'chapter of work' sequenced for the intention of private use and that although Prince had ideas he toyed with, like an album called 'High' for example, he felt the work was best represented as a whole by a 'Crystal Ball style compilation.' That would make sense as he released all of these songs through the NPG Music Club, rather than put out any album. Also told, that just like most projects Prince works on, they are constantly evolving and who knows what shape or form these songs will grow into. Talk of the 4 new albums might add some credibility to this. Who knows?
Anyway, here it is... SIDE 1 Why I Lay My Hands On U SM Groove Silicon Y Should I Do That, When I Can Do This? SIDE 2 Cybersingle Hypnoparadise Judas Smile Van Gough SIDE 3 When Will Be Paid? Gamillah Underneath The Cream High SIDE 4 Sex Me Sex Me Not Vavoom My Medallion Golden Parachute SIDE 5 U Make My Sun Shine Breathe Madrid 2 Chicago Supercute The Daisy Chain SIDE 6 Instrumental A Case Of U U're Gonna C Me Here On Earth One Nite Alone The sequence seems 2 work quite nicely when I played it back. What do y'all think? [Updated info from the author... -Ben] Funny that...almost all y'all comments are what I initially thought too. So when I questioned what was up with the 6 sides deal, I was promptly told 'Prince is thinking of releasing this body of work as a 3 LP set, the old-fashioned way, the way he originally conceptualised the Crystal Ball album.' I wasn't quick enough at the time to think of questioning the timing of each side not being equal or thereabouts; there's only so much I could think of in the space of a short conversation. FYI the conversation DID take place, but the PP representative wished to remain nameless for some reason. Was she releasing unofficial news - who knows?! Why I Lay My Hands On U was a typo on my part, as some of you obsessed over (keep cool), should be When I Lay My Hands On U. And one more thing, this conversation took place at least a couple of months ago and therefore the new NPGMC chat info (4 albums now, NOT 1 compilation; two called One Nite Alone and Madrid 2 Chicago NONE called Here On Earth) is probably the new evolution of Prince's mind set on how and what he will be releasing of this "new" music. Personally speaking, I don't think some of this material comes close to the brilliance and cohesiveness of TRC but who knows what it will sound like when we get to hear it through a sound system rather than computer. I hope they DO ditch the mp3s and revert to CDs as was suggested. Shoulda said all of this im my original post, but it sure was funny as I skimmed through all your messages! CONFUSION... | |
