Blender's Chock Full of Prince References this Month

Four Prince references in the latest edition of Blender (US) magazine with Kid Rock on the cover (http://www.blender.com).

(1) In an article titled "33 Things you should Know about No Doubt", fact #21 reads: "Prince to Guys in No Doubt: Drop Dead - starting work at Paisley Park in 1999 on Rock Steady's "Waiting Room", the Purple One decided only Stefani was needed. 'For some reason when we arrived, he decided we should go home' says Young. 'That was dissappointing bacause we wanted to play'".

(2)In an article with Carmen Electra titled "My Music", she picks her ten favorite records, including Prince's 'Symbol' album: "This was the only Artist record that I ever worked on. We did a duet on a song called 'The Continental' . That was an amazing experience, to go into the studio with Prince, have him right there. I was scared to death, but I learned so much from him. He's very professional, a hard worker, very to the point."

(3) In an article titled "100 Greatest American albums", Prince's Purple Rain comes in at #18": "Prince had been building a mythology for five albums before hitting the jackpot with this autobiographical movie and soundtrack. Purple Rain sold 13 million, inspired Tipper Gore to start her album-stickering crusade and briefly made Minneapolis the musical capital of the United States".

(4) In the same article, Sign O The Times comes in at #70: "It took Prince three years to nail a worthy follow-up to 1984's 13 times platinum Purple Rain. This kinky double disc topped that album artistically; Prince swung from funk to rock to power pop, electronically gender-bent his vocals and achieved epic musical sprawl without sacrificing intimacy."
