TV Guide Liked Prince Surprising Bryant

In this weeks issue of TV Guide (Jan. 12 - 18 edition), they have done a lengthy article on the 50th anniversary of The Today Show. In a side article is "The Today Show's 10 Greatest Moments" & one of the chosen moments is when Prince surprised Bryant Gumbel on his final show as a co-host. It reads:

FORMER PRINCE, FORMER KING (January 3, 1997):
It is the last show as cohost for Gumbel, and we're nearly at the end. We've seen clips and heard reminiscences from his 15-year Today career. What more could there be? "A few weeks back," Katie Couric says to Gumbel, after a break, "you had the pleasure of conducting the first live sit-down interview ever with the Artist Formerly Known as Prince....The Artist is back this morning with his band to sing..." And out walks the performer - dressed to look just like Gumbel in a nearly identical suit, shirt, tie, handkerchief. As Gumbel collapses in laughter, his mini-me takes to the piano for a version of "Take Me With You". Gumbel knows all the words.

With the blurb are small pictures of Gumbel and his Prince look-alike. BTW, The Today Show's anniversary special aired on the 14th (Monday) but no Prince clips were shown.
