4th Park Jam Report [Way to go! I love all these report! -Ben]
Last night was beautiful. Not alot of dancing at first people went right up to the stage to wait. The band went up first with Prince following. He had on a Minnesota Vikings jersey, dark pants, and white snow boots with matching hat. He seemed to be in very good spirits joking around and walking through the middle of the crowd to get to the stage. He started the show with Calhoun Square, throughout the evening he played Muse To The Pharoh, a couple of instrumentals off TRC, a kind of blue grass/country jam that was cool. The band broke into 1+1+1=3 tooooo funky, family name was also played. The last song of the evening was Everlasting Now, which I feel is so much better live. During the guitar solo P went into the Santana Medley. Maceo was up on stage for the whole performance along with John, Rhonda, And Renato. Let me say that Renato is such a good switch from Morris, it's always good to hear someone fresh. Especially when they are as talented as he! Also Mike Scott went up and jammed for a song or 2. Larry and Tina were also in the audience getting their grove on. The crowd was hyped lots of cheering and crowd participation. There were maybe 100 people there. The show lasted around an hour, hour and a half. After the show the dance fllor was jumpin I think people were still pumped up from the performance. I believe this show was the best out of the past 3 shows. With all of the shows lately P hasn't been singing alot of the lyrics that go with the songs. In this case the music is speaking for it's self and it is saying alot. The guitar playing by Prince was incrediable last night. I wish everyone could see Prince perform a show like this one at Paisley. I think this is when people are able to really see just how much of a genius he is! Because this is where for the most part you take away all the drama, all the gossip, all the flashy lights and big productions. You take all that away and the most important thing is left a man and his music. | |
