First Paisley Report

I was looking forward to going to Paisley. Finally got a date with a girl I've been digging for over 2 months. The Timberwolves creamed the Lakers! Yea Baby!
Got to Paisley a little before 1 a.m. n opened the doors about 1:45. We paid the $7.00 cover charge. It was held inside the NPG Music Club room. They played like 7 Prince songs in a row ranging from "Partyman" to "Undisputed" n then played some other stuff like that Cooly High track.
Around 2:30 a.m., his guitar tech started getting the equipment ready, so we knew it was on.

Just after John Blackwell took the stage, the weekly Paisley Bullies came out n started bumrushing the stage stating to whoever is by the stage that "it's there spot". This crap has been happening for years. Wether or not you kiss the Paisley Securities Butt or you have been coming here since 1991, if you are not by the stage before he comes out, there is no reservations, and it is the person that has been standing there for 2 hours space. Sorry I had to comment on it but i have seeing the same damn obnoxius people do it every week for far too long n it ruins the Paisley Experience. It pissed me off more this time cuz it seems that they actually were shoving little girls big time this time & were loud all throuoght the performance. (I am a really tall guy so I usually stand towards the middle so other people can have a better view)

So Blackwell hits the stage at 3:45 n plays drums to the track playing over the speakers. Prince comes out about 10 minutes later with his newly super short hair (Think Emancipation look with bangs)wearing black pants & a black shirt, with white see thru sleeves depending on the light, n the front was buttoned up with his chest hair exposed, wearing his big ass diamond NPG pendant necklace n shiny boots.

Johnnie Blackshire came out n sang n the whole night just seemed so improvised. Singing a different version of "Come & Dance With Me" n then later was joined By Larry G, no Rhonda Smith in site. Larry was wearing little tiny reading glasses n looking thin these days. He was wearing black heeled boots(!) n a white shirt with black pants.
Prince did not sing at all but would say some things to the auidence during the performance. His new keyboardist was nowhere in sight although his equipment was set up on stage.
It was a Jazzy Jam performance which lasted until around 4:35 a.m. Except for a loop of "The Work", I could not make out any other tracks, they were just flowing.
Prince was in a good mood tonight n smiling a lot n joking with the crowd.

Prince's new Bride, who was sporting a wedding ring, was by the side of the stage close to his keyboards which he played along with the guitar he used in the "Dinner With Delores" video & he also played Habibi. After playing keyboards & before playing guitar, Prince took off his wedding band n handed it to Mani so he could play guitar.
After they started leaving the stage, they played "Supercute" n I left shortly after that.
There was about 150 people there at the peak of the night, although some left even before he took the stage.
Again, great performance & night in Minnesota. Garnett was on tonight. n So was Prince.
