REVIEW: PRINCE'S THE RAINBOW CHILDREN
by Charlyn Griffith

Prince's newest release, The Rainbow Children, is a storybook with vivid colors, intense emotions that creates illustrations of "eargasmic" proportions. The new release from NPG Records has been highly anticipated, by loyal fans and curious music connoisseurs alike.

Members of the NPG Music Club were given the chance to download the entire album on October 17th, and the response was completely encouraging. The new style was embraced and deemed "exactly what music needs."

With a directory of tracks organized by Chapter..."Digital Garden" invites you to dance in the fortress where these mysteriously melodic missionaries play, while the album's first single, "The Work-Pt 1," outlines and encourages humanity's willingness to "get down to business."

"1+1+1=3" becomes a favorite, reminiscent of Prince's signature style that influenced so many others in the 80's. "Family Name," being the most controversial chapter of the Rainbow Children's book, examines history and warns us of the progress that society has yet to make.

With tracks that boast meaningful and prolific lyrics as well as seemingly flawless production, "The Rainbow Children" is literature for your ears that provides stimulation for all your senses... "Last December" brings the adventure to a close and is reflective of the project's jazzy, soulful, hip and sultry personality.

Prince has written a book for the new year, it's time to remember that reading is fundamental...
