Prince Songs on St. Louis "Top 100 Greatest Black Songs"

Prince makes entries on St. Louis Top 100 GREATEST BLACK songs

excerpt:
15. Little Red Corvette (1983)
Prince

What do Little Red Corvette and Jackie Robinson have in common? They both broke color barriers. MTV, which is now more than happy to exploit black women, was slow to include black artists on its play list. The sexually charged "Corvette" is on the acclaimed "1999" album, which was released in late 1982 and includes Delirious and the party favorite 1999

51.Erotic City (1984)
Prince and the Revolution

One of the best "radio hits" of the latter part of the 20th century. In your face funk with Prince's computer vamp vocals.

55. If I was Your Girlfriend (1987)
Prince

The most complex and ambiguous song to be released during the Ronald Reagan regime.

and parenthetically...

82.I Feel for you (1984)
Chaka Khan

Although Chaka is upstaged by Stevie wonder's sampled "Fingertips" harmonica, Melle Mel's infectious "Chaka-chaka-chaka-chaka khan" rap, and Prince's composition, the song was one of the better songs to come out of the 1980s.

I'll post the entire list after this news item gets posted.
