A bit late but one of Belgians most popular magazines (P-Magazine) just reviewed The Very Best Of Prince .. here's a translation:

Compilation of seventeen Prince hits between '79 (the album Prince) and '91 (Diamonds and Pearls), the period before Prince had troubles with Warner and before he decided to go through life as the tafkap-symbol. Because everybody should by law own a minimum of Prince-compositions, our national estimate should foresee to give every newborn baby this 'cream de la cream' of a very best of as a present from the state. Pretty nice review, although the album is completely obsolete for us die-hard prince fans (it's the only prince album i didn't buy), the idea of the auther of giving this cd as a birthpresent from the state would definitely give this cd a reason to exist ..
