Issue #50 of UPTOWN marks the 10th year anniversary of the magazine. Unfortunately, the new issue is a week overdue, but we wanted to take the extra time in order to print an eight-page supplement that tells the story of the magazine. The article also describes the key people behind the magazine and comments on all the 50 issues published since the premiere issue saw the light of day in October 1991.

We're keeping track of the NPGMC releases in a comprehensive survey. Another article updates a feature on US promotional releases from issue #7. The issue also includes a commentary on how Prince's work has been influenced by some of the morals and beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses.

The 10 years of UPTOWN wouldn't have been possible without the enormous support we get from our friends and readers throughout the world. To a large extent, UPTOWN is a community effort. Sincere thanks for all the help and kindness that keep us going. Sincere thanks for coming along for the ride - we hope you'll stay with us as we head into our second decade.

[Much props to Uptown... you guys are the ORIGINALS, and 'primed' the fans for years, making online communities like the PML, PPML, prince.org, and the other sites much easier to take root. The UPTOWN staff are truly the biggest fans I know, promoting the man and his music well beyond the call of duty, through adversity, and sometimes at their own disadvantage.
