Prince sues concert promoter Prince is in court again, suing a Michigan promoter for money he says he's owed from his 1998 Jam of the Year Tour. The rock star from Chanhassen filed suit in Carver County District Court against Willie Donwell and Elizabeth Touring Corp., claiming that he was to receive $3 million for seven concerts, but that $1.5 million is unaccounted for. The suit also contends that the promoter failed to take out insurance on Prince as promised, so he was held financially liable when he injured an ankle and canceled a concert. Last week, Donwell's lawyers filed to dismiss the suit in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis. Jon Bream http://www.startribune.co...7-Aug-1999 | |
