More Info on French Vibrations (Magazine, Not Ticklers)

French mag Vibrations (http://www.lesite.fr/vibrations/ -- no. 40, December 2001-January 2002, published by Hi-Box -- http://www.hi-box.fr/) has a special on Prince.

The magazine is available in Belgium in the International Magazine Stores (Antwerp, Hasselt,... -- see http://www.IMStijdschriften.be/).

He's on the cover (a photo from the May 2000 press conference, but with such bad quality it makes you wonder whether they've scanned it from another magazine).

Inside there's several articles:
- the origins of TRC, which includes so many mistakes it's clear that the research for this consisted of the author asking a bunch of ignorant fans. For instance, at one point in the article he claims he downloaded TRC two weeks before the release date, elsewhere this becomes a month. He also claims "The Work" was premiered in July 2001 in Montreal (it was available as a download in early 2001 via Napster). Many titles contain spelling errors.
- an "exclusive" interview by Serge Simonart from late 1998, held in New York and until now "secret" (see below).
- short interview with C'Babi Bayoc, the artist who did the cover art of TRC.
- an interview with Michael B and Sonny T.

Well, the Simonart article is not that exclusive, considering it first appeared in the October 1998 issue of Guitar World (and IIRC In August 1998 in Belgian magazine Humo): http://princetext.tripod...._gw98.html -- though the Vibrations article includes an extra question at the end regarding Prince's "appearance" in Fargo.

IMHO, at least part of this "interview" is fake and consists of excerpts taken from other interviews. Which is something Serge has done before (see http://www.prince.org/new...t=simonart for other examples). Also look here for more on the Guitar World article: http://groups.google.com/...%40default
