San Diego Paper TRC Review Another short review.(Maybe it was already sent, I'm not sure.) [Nope, this is a new one! -Ben]
http://www.signonsandiego...rince.html November 22, 2001 ALBUM REVIEW THE RAINBOW CHILDREN Redline/NPG Sometimes, it's good to be a member of Prince's online-downloading NPG Music Club. A month before it hits stores, you get albums like "The Rainbow Children," which, while hardly a Prince classic, is indeed tasty. Mixing funk, jazz, R&B and raw sexuality as few others have and can, Prince (that is his name again, FYI) rarely fails to excite or at least provoke on "Rainbow," now available for general sale. He changes moods with hi-fi finesse on such tunes as "Muse 2 the Pharoah," "Mellow" and "Digital Garden," knocks out a promising single, called "1+1+1 Is 3," and even brings to mind retro Steely Dan on "The Sensual Hereafter." -- DAVID L.
