I just got back from the Maceo Parker performance at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. It was a great show that lasted almost 3 hours. Maceo played “Baby knows”, like he did on earlier shows. They played also some James Brown tunes and funky jams. A surprise was the appearance of Candy Dulfer; Maceo invited her on stage and she jammed on “Higher ground”, “Move your body” and a jam at the end of the concert. This was really great to experience! At a moment Maceo and Candy shared the same stage-microphone, while moving to the groove. Maceo showed her much sympathy. It was a funky atmosphere in Amsterdam; try to see a show while he is still on tour in Europe!
