EUR Praises TRC http://www.eurweb.com/art...052001.cfm
I saw this article on the website for the Electronic Urban Report. It gives wonderful praise for TRC. ***** (Nov. 5, 2001) "In the name of the Father, In the name of the Son, We need 2 come 2gether, Come 2gether as One." Those are some profound words that can be found on The Rainbow Children, the latest display of genius by our Prince of darkness who has finally seen the light of the original genius, God, and takes you to church, Prince style. Some will disagree with my strong emphasis on God, but have you ever met anyone who didn't disagree with interpreting Prince's music? However, one thing we'll all agree with is that Prince has returned to his funky days and, happy days are here again! Although Prince called minutes before to say he would not be present, the much anticipated show still went on with just as much anxiety. The show was NPG (New Power Generation) Records and Redline Entertainment's invitation to a unique music xperience to listen 2 the new controversial album by Prince at The Mercer. I've been to many listening gigs in my lifetime and this one rates right up there with the best. Why, the music dear children, just the music. Prince at last, Prince at last. Thank God Almighty, Prince at last! The set itself had nothing different from the others I have attended -- trendy place, beautiful people, open bar, great munchies -- but it had the one and only Prince's music playing loudly through crystal clear speakers. Even over the bawdy crowd, I was able to hear his strong messages about his Rainbow Children and how "they went about the work of building a new nation." Over 15,000 NPG Music Club Members were the first to hear Prince's long-awaited album -- The Rainbow Children -- before its November 20 street date. You see, it pays to be a member. The provocative new album is classic Prince with enough funk to resurrect any damage our country has sustained with encouraging words of wisdom most are afraid to address no less write/sing about. The new CD has strong messages of empowerment and God's presence is everywhere with a touch of funk. "With the accurate understanding of God and His law they went about the work of building a new nation: The Rainbow Children/The Wise One who understood the law that was handed down from God long ago reflected the true meaning 2 his woman every day and she surrendered her discerning of it in2 his care and keeping 4 she trusted he would lead in the right way/Her children in subjection 2 her, she in subjection 2 the Wise One, and the Wise One in subjection 2 the only begotten one, all -- 4ever in subjection 2 God." The jammin' verse answers back: "Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise/Flying upon the wings of the New Translation/C them fly, fly/The covenant will b kept this time/Just like the sun, the Rainbow Children rise/Who is ur real father?/The everlasting one." The erudite lyrics truly penetrate the depths of your soul and although you don't have to be a Christian to understand where Prince charming is comin' from, it doesn't hurt. "In the name of the Father/In the name of the Son/We need 2 come 2gether/Come 2gether as one/Did u love somebody/But got no love in return?/Did you understand the real meaning of love/That it just is and never yearns?/When the truth arrives/Will u b lost on the other side?/Will u still b alive?/In ur life did u just give a little/Or did u give all that u had?/Were u just somewhere in the middle/Not 2 good, not 2 bad?" The Rainbow Children is composed of fourteen challenging chapters -- Chapter One-"Rainbow Children;" Chapter Two-"Muse 2 The Pharaoh;" Chapter Three-"Digital Garden;" Chapter Four-"The Work Pt. 1;" Chapter Five-"Everywhere;" Chapter Six-"The Sensual Everafter;" Chapter Seven-"Mellow;" Chapter Eight-"1+1+1 is 3;" Chapter Nine-"Deconstruction;" Chapter Ten-"Wedding Feast;" Chapter Eleven-"She Loves Me 4 Me;" Chapter Twelve-"Family Name;" Chapter Thirteen-"The Everlasting Now;" and Chapter Fourteen-"Last December." The Rainbow Children was recorded and mixed at Paisley Park by Femi Jiya & Prince and manufactured and distributed by Redline Entertainment, Inc. The album features John Blackwell, the Magnificent on drumz; Najee on Soprano Sax Appeal & Flute; Milenia, Kip Blackshire, Mr. Hayes and Femi Jiya on backing vox; Mr. Larry Graham Jr., bazz on the work Pt. 1 & Last December; Hornheadz on group hornz. All other instruments-digital or otherwise, lead and co-lead vox, percussion and sound FX per 4med by Prince ... and U. The NPG Music Club -- launched on February 14, 2001 -- is an online subscription-based music club that delivers new, unreleased songs every month from Prince & The New Power Generation and is 100% owned and operated by Prince & The NPG. I don't know if Prince found God or if God found Prince but these two have definitely connected in The Rainbow Children and all God's children are happier because of it. Prince heralds, "The children will b laced with the protection of the word of God," and I add, to God be the glory. * * * * Until ... look and stay ... Always Just Beautiful! | |
