Sheila E. and the Ecovedo Family will be performing in LA at the Namaste Spirit Awards this Sunday, Nov 11th.

There are some items donated to the event by the Escovedo's for auction (which sound very cool) as well as other musical artists.

Just some of the amazing items donated to the charity auction include:

- an original painting by Pete Escovedo

- Sheila E's drum series (autographed) Bongas

- an authentic white silk Purple Rain Tour Shirt, worn by Prince

- an original painting donated by Carlos Santana

Anyone in the area who can check it out, let us know how it goes. All proceeds go to charity and to the Namaste Interfaith Center.

THE NAMASTE SPIRIT AWARDS at the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City, CA.

This year, we honor the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments for their heroic efforts for our community and, through them, to honor the heroes of the police and fire departments who gave their lives in the tragedy of September 11.

We also honor the contributions of director David Galligan, who has used music to help raise millions of dollars for charities through the years.

Our special musical guests will include GRP recording artist Freddie Ravel, who recently hit #1 in the charts with his song Sunny Side Up; and Concord Records recording artist Pete Escovedo, a legend in latin jazz. They will be joined by Sheila E., another latin jazz legend in her own right and part of the great Escovedo family of musical giants.

The Namaste Spirit Awards is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It is especially needed this year because Namaste is looking for a new home due to the expansion of the MTA Express Line coming through our property.
