Solomon Burke Sings On Jazz 'Tribute 2 Prince' CD

A CD of re-interpreted tunes by Minneapolis funk and pop kingpin Prince is the focus of a new multi-artist jazz compilation. Tribute 2 Prince: Sexykinkyjazzysmooth debuts on the Vitamin label on September 11.

This compilation of Prince compositions spans a number of jazz styles, from swinging big band to jiving be-bop, R&B, and jazz fusion. Prominently featured on the album are the vocals of veteran R&B singer Solomon Burke Jr. Also playing on the CD are jazz artists Gringo Floyd and Jim McMillen, among others.

The track listing for Tribute 2 Prince is as follows: "Delirious," "Purple Rain," "Adore," "Girls & Boys," "Seven," "When Doves Cry," "Rock Hard In A Funky Place," "Letitgo," "Pop Life," "Hot Thing," "Little Red Corvette," and "Anotherloverholenyohead."

Vitamin Records specializes in artist tribute CDs. The label is also releasing an orchestral tribute to the music of singer-songwriter Tori Amos.
