:::::trc listening party:::::

i went 2 the listening party the other nite, and all i got is this report....and ringin ears...*lol*

here's how it went 4 me:

the doors opened at about 8 or so, but me and my friends didn't make it 2 the park till around 8:45 or so. the line wuz really short when we got there, which wuz cool. went thru the donation/metal detector sweep, went into the soundstage area and kicked it 4 a bit. they started playin trc @ around/a lil bit after 9 (dunno 4 sure, i don't have a watch).....all in all, the album wuz pretty mediocre 2 me. there was really no good or bad things about it. it just.....was. very jazzy, very funky....if there wuz supposed 2 be some sort of a jw theme in this album, i couldn't really tell. there definitely wuz some biblical-themed stuff in the lyrix, tho', but what i basically paid attention 2 wuz the music. there were all sorts of songs that reminded u of stuff from way back when--there's a song on there that has a beat that is SO "erotic city". pretty hot. "muse 2 the pharaoh" wuz....it just wuz (brotha, u were right, *lol*)...the track that got me wuz "wedding feast", that shit smells of monty python 2 me, it had me crackin up!!

the weirdest thing about the entire album is that it sounded/felt like there wuz a weird fairytale-type book bein read 2 u, cuz lil man's voice narrated thru the entire album in this slowed-down voice, kinna like "bob george" but creepier. this album would work really good as a backdrop 4 halloween (yep gretchen, i agree!!).

another thing: the stage wuz all set up, like prince wuz gonna perform....but he didn't, and that kinna sucked. someone told me that he did pop up briefly somewhere in the building & then left, but i dunno....i seen mr. hayes like about 3 times before the nite wuz through.

they played trc twice--once @ 9, and then again @ midnight. the rest of the time the dj wuz playin stuff and ppl were dancin around and what-not. most of the ppl left after they played trc the first time, then the place wuz damn near emptee. at around 2:30 in the a.m., they turned on all the lights in the soundstage and stuff, which i guess wuz our symbol 2 bounce on outta there. all in all, the party wasn't bad at all--got 2 meet folks from the html-chatroom (hi violett!!) and just kick it in channie-chan all nite. beats stayin at home.

on another note: they FINALLY fixed the lock on the first stall in the ladies' bathroom, ya'll!!!!! yay!!!!!

on that note, that's the way it wuz...4 me, ennyway. *lol*

4 those of u who are from out of the state/country, hope ya'll had fun & made it home safe and i'll see ya'll the next time around...whenever that'll be...
