AUS Music Show: Avoid MJ, Madonna, Get Prince On Channel 2 music Program, Rage, in Australia today (Saturday 20th October 2001) a mention of upcoming album releases gave Prince a favourable mention. After bagging the upcoming Michael Jackson album, referring to it as a inevitable disappointment, and also questioning the value of Madonna's new greatest hits package (complete with no new tracks) the host (name unknown) stated that although Australian release details have not been released, The Rainbow Children will eventually see an Australian release, and he stated that this could be an album which will see Prince returning to fine form, and may see him with something relevant to say. The review stated that TRC had commentary on social issues, and wasnt just an album of useless mushy love songs. The finished off by saying, keep your eyes and ears open for this one. So finally Prince, it seems, may be again getting the respect he deserves, and so desperatly needs. I believe that this album is not about getting back in to the higher end of the charts, although it would be nice, but more importantly, getting Prince known again for what he does best, creating damn fine toons.
