Smith cites The Artist (Formerly Known As Prince) as a kindred spirit and an influential factor in his decision to find an alternative to the typical ways of releasing an album. "When I was still on Sony, I saw Prince on "Vibe" talking about how he could release music whenever and however he wanted, and how he had complete control over it. I really connected with where he was coming from."

During August and September, Smith will tour throughout the South and East Coasts, performing songs from "Let It All Begin" and Brad and Satchel favorites.
