Bassist Victor Wooten on Time, Prince, etc.

This past week, I conducted a very interesting interview with Grammy award-winning bassist, VICTOR WOOTEN. His new 2 Cd live set, "Live In America" was released on Tuesday. During the chat, Victor spoke on his musical upbringing and said the Time, Prince and Larry Graham were huge influences on his sound. He expressed a sincere desire to collaborate with them. I' m doing my best to help him on this one. On the new CD, there is a track called "Pretty Little Lady" which Wooten said was a tribute to the MPLS sound. Also, during "Hormones In The Headphones", Victor starts playing the bass riff from the Time's "Cool" . The double CD is so packed with real R&B and funk that it is a must for the collection and radio. It also features Bootsy Collins, JD Blair, Regi Wooten and Joseph Wooten. Go to www.victorwooten.com for the latest.

I will be reairing the interview on "The Upper Room with Joe Kelley" this Saturday night Oct. 13th from 10pm-10am EST Internet broadcast is at :
