The Artist performs music from his critically-acclaimed album "Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic," as well as selections from his vault of smash hits and pop classics. Filmed at Paisley Park Studio in Minneapolis, where a multi-piece band, including legendary bass player Larry Graham and members of the Family Stone, join the Artist and his special guests in this spectacular historical event.
Songs: Let's Go Crazy, She's Always in My Hair, U Got the Look, Kiss, Jungle Love (Morris Day and the Time), The Bird (Morris Day and the Time), American Woman (Lenny Kravitz), Fly Away (Lenny Kravitz), Get Off, Medley (Rosie Gaines, Mike Scott, Maceo Parker), It's Alright, Everyday People (Cynthia Robinson, Gerry Martini), Higher, Purple Rain, The Christ, Blues Medley (Maceo Parker, Johnny Blackshire), Nothing Compares 2 U, Take Me With U/Raspberry Beret, The Greatest Romance Ever Sold, Baby Knows, Baby I'm a Star, 1999.

Wew! I am worn out! This guy can sure put on a show that is jammed packed with one song after another that just does not slow down. With some very special guest in the bill, this is one groove that had me jumping up and down and trying to do the splits like Prince can, or is his real name The Artist, I am so confused. Just to let you know, I failed at the splits. I just can't seem to do them as this man can.

This disc is filled with over two hours of classic Prince songs and more that any fan should not be without! Like I said, this concert does not stop and is full of energy that only Prince can give you. It has been a very, very long time since I have heard a Prince song and although Prince is not my type of music, I enjoyed watching this DVD and this disc made me understand just how much talent this guy has when it comes to music.

Video: The picture is clean and clear. Prince has never looked better. This disc looks very good especially with all the dark colors from the lighting.

Audio: While the 5.1 mix is clean and balanced fine, the rears are only used for ambience with reverb in the rears. You will not get any tricks with this mix. This is a straightforward mix with everything going on with the three front speakers. There is also a DTS 5.1 track, which helps a little bit. But really just a tad and not has much of a difference as with other titles. But it does improve the quality by not sounding quite as thin; it is a tad fuller than the Dolby version.

One of the great things about DVD is the extras that these studios put on their product compared to VHS. This is no exception. You get some bonus songs, an interview plus more! I can guarantee you that any Prince fan out there will love this DVD. It has a lot to offer any fan out there.

Features: Full Screen, Innerviews, Bonus Groovez: Flashlight (George Clinton), The Undertaker (Cathy Jensen - Sax Solo; Jimmy Russell - Harmonica Solo), Release Urself (Larry Graham, The Artist, NPG).
