Playing on the Gay Image

The Melbourne afternoon daily newspaper MX, ran a report today on celebrities cashing in on the Pink Dollar. The report mentioned artists like Janet Jackson, Australian Singer Kylie Minogue, and Robbie Williams who all have huge Gay followings. The interesting thing was that Prince was mentioned due to his liking for feminine clothing and elaborate hair styles. The article stated that Prince has often been labelled as gay, but a long line of female companions would suggest otherwise. I personally don't believe Prince chooses his image to attract gay fans, but is part of a statement which says, "Be Yourself, and individual" However one point that a Prince fan made in the article, was rather amusing. He said that "Prince does not market himself to attract gay fans, in fact with the way he has been releasing his music on internet only, he hasn't been doing anything to win any fans really" Being obviously a big Prince fan, as are the readers of this site, I have to agree with that. Prince should get back to releasing CDs.
