Prince's Ex-Manager Fargnoli dies From today's Hollywood Reporter:
Manager Steve Fargnoli dies Sep. 17, 2001 Steve Fargnoli, a famed artist manager and producer who was responsible for the careers of Prince and Sinead O'Connor, has died. He was 52. Fargnoli died Friday in Los Angeles after a two-year battle with cancer. During his 25-year career, Fargnoli worked with such acts as Sly & the Family Stone, the J. Geils Band, Earth, Wind & Fire and the Emotions. In 1978, a then-unknown artist called Prince caught Fargnoli's ear, and he went on to produce "Purple Rain," the biggest album of Prince's career with more than 13 million copies sold. During the late '90s, Fargnoli helped develop the heavy rock band Godsmack. He is survived by his mother, Rose, and his nieces Lia and Alexa. | |
