Prince will not be playing at Glastenbury 2004

{{{Michael Eavis has told the BBC that James Brown is planning a big show for the Sunday evening at this years Glastonbury. The report also says he "gave a strong hint" that Oasis and Paul McCartney will also be playing [and Prince will not be]}}}

Meanwhile, postings on a Prince fan website say he's definitely not playing. The same website correctly said he wasn't playing when rumoured last year.

So it looks like - with Oasis, Paul McCartney and James Brown - any of these headline acts could be playing the Sunday "oldie" spot.

Elsewhere, Daniel Bedingfield's manager told an Austrailian website that he's to play, and we're pleased to say that no less than Brian May has dismissed the Queen rumour as rubbish.

It's been confirmed that tickets will priced at £112, and go on sale on 1st April at 8pm. Tickets will be restricted to two per person and each transaction will be vigilantly monitored to make sure there is no repetition. All tickets will be personalised to prevent unauthorised reselling – and there will be checks at the gates.

JB WAS one of the greatest ever performers in his day but i can only imagine (from speaking to other people whove seen him lately) he'll be an embarassment these days. prince would have been much better. oh well...

hang on a minute - it doesn't say anywhere he's not playing...just that the org and npgmc suggests he wont...although jb being confirmed for the sunday doesn't sound particularly promising, i must admit, in terms of our little friend performing too...

in fact, the story on the bbc website still links prince to the shows...
