Musician, Res (pronounced REESE) makes a Prince reference in her interview with the UK based magazine, DAZED:

"There isn't a catagory for me yet. Maybe we should just say it's Good Music. I'm very diferent from most Philly singers coming up. People classify them as Neo-Soul and that's dope- I'm a fan of it myself, but it's not what I am apart of. My music is more coming out of Rock."

(Going on to say her and her school friends listened to Aerosmith, Tori Amos and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers)

"That's what gives me my sound. It's like when you put on Prince, you listen to all the people he listened to. The only music I didn't check was country."

Res has just released her first solo album. Before this, she had been heard on tracks by WuTang's GZA and Talib Kweli's Reflection Eternal project. She's definitly one to watch.
