BartVanHemelen said: That might have been a reason, but a more important one was that the release simply wasn't legit. I wouldn't be surprised if WB's execs had had enough of his crap and told their lawyers to send Prince a stern letter telling him to quit or face a multi-million dollar lawsuit. That's exactly what happened. The only problem was that first they told him it was ok, then changed their mind. Bob Morgado agreed 2 Prince's outside release with the stipulation that he had material ready 4 a Warner release when the market permitted successful promotion. Benny Medina said Prince was pissed because they told him he couldn't release the album on his birthday as a rebirth experience (there's a certain time when record companies release material because of profitability margins), that's why they came up with just letting him do whatever until they were ready. The real reason Morgado agreed was because he felt that Prince's little vanity record label release would do nothing and go nowhere without their distribution. So 2 appease Prince and shut him up, Mr. Morgado bastard told Prince it was ok. Then when Prince promoted the hell out of the release of "TMBGITW", WB got pissed knowing that they had 2 practically pull his hair out 2 get him 2 promote their stuff. Prince was on TV, radio and everywhere possible, even gave out free tickets on WBLS pushing that single. Warner's agreed 2 a full outside release, not just that single, then the Indian givers pulled "Love Sign" with a cease and desist 2 keep Prince from doing what they said it was ok 4 him 2 do. That's wrong. Even though it's illegal in the first place 4 him 2 have released "TMBGITW" Prince or O{+>, because he's not supposed 2 record period without WB, they did agree however, so they were wrong 2. The worst part was I heard that after they issued the cease and desist and Prince started bitching, because they said it was ok b4, they issued a statement to his lawyers that if he discussed the basis of their dissagreement in public, that would be defimation of character and they would sue him. That's why he couldn't really give detailed reason 4 the slave thing (speaking without speaking) until he was out of there. Not being able 2 really explain y he was so vexed made him look crazier than anything. I could c y Prince was so pissed. Did anyone here c the "Love Sign" video. Prince should let Ice Cube direct all his videos. Clear precise cinematography, great composition and brilliant color work.

sexkitten04 said: Prince is said to have a new product. The rumor is 18 year old Debora, signed to Paisley Park, and is working with Prince to sign to Warner Brothers records. That's just a rumor, it'd be very interesting to see if it's true...
[We've also heard rumors that PP might start renting studio usage to the outside world again... hmm! -Ben] its going to be a teenage white girl doing black music novelty artists isnt it? probably doing something soul-ish... everyone wants one of these lately and prince isnt much different, then again he worked with dozens of similar artists in the 80s.

BartVanHemelen said: And as anyone can see: Prince simply doesn't invest in his business, but instead relies on companies or people that will do the work for free or cheap (i.e. association with famous pop star). That's why the ONA DVD sucks, that's why NPGMC has been a clueless operation for three years runnign, that's why Prince essentially never has had a decent official website, etc.
- I gotta agree with this one. Although I loved the music of the DVD, I think it was very cheap when it comes to production. The website isnĀ“t good also.

It's all wishful thinking.
I drive by paisley park once in a while (because i live out ther) on the weekend nites just to see if something's going on...no cars in the parking lot, just a couple lights on the front entrance ways. Paisley is just a building now, somewhere to store his goods, and not much more. Oh the magic that was once there huh?
