The truth is the guy is old and turned into some religy fruit. Once he wanted to rule and kick ass now he cares not. IMO: "Admit it most of you do not care about instrumental jazz, most of you would kill for some great new songs like them from 84-87 period!!"[/quote]

to be fair to prince, the rainbow children kicked ass for ahell of alot of his fans, and even the press said it was great bar the preaching. now rumours are this new album will sound similar musically but without the preaching. that sounds kick ass to me!

when i say rumours i just mean songs we've heard so far from live things and so on. its not a real "rumour" per se

Total clunker.

It's not a clunker considering the numerous changes of CEO's over the last few years at WB. In addtion, they just sold their music division away. Outside of Maddonna they did not have a lot of big artist on the label since the mid-80's. Once the sale takes place most if not all of the people in the music division we be out of a job. These folks are not in a position to make jokes.

good to see the ego's still there. Now someone explain why its cool for WB to have a dig at Prince but not for Prince to respond in kind?, give the guy a break.

Missing what?? lol The MILLIONS of albums that he sold in the 90's??? I'm sure they don't lose any sleep over Prince, unless they lost the 80's catalog, then they'd care.

I don't think so! Otherwise, they wouldn't use Prince's name!

They're using his name to poke fun at him after the big stir he caused after WILLINGLY signing a contract. they ain't loosing any sleep over him.

As far as this goes; it's funny/cute, not as funny as WB's joke, but it still brought a smile to my face smile

Oh well! Can't you see that Warn a Brother has no good artist signed on their label since PRINCE and they're just trying to associate Prince's and their company's name?

I think that is hillarious. WTG. Great way to have a sense of humor. Some people seem like they wouldn't give Prince any credit if he found the answer to world peace...lighten up. And y would you talk him down b cause he chose not to use a curse word?? That is lame.

Oh, yeah. Same thing said for RaveIn2 and Emancipation. The states of mind will always work its way into the music. If he passes all the overboard religy crap and moves on maybe he will be singing about something other than God! The guys view on radio, mtv, the industry kinda hinder him from trying to kick ass in sales, radio charts, video play. Its kinda like these things do not matter when you know you can't get played or sell a million cds. Sad when you look at who else is in the charts, hmm if P was in the charts again it would be some fresh air. Don't blame WB they didn't make you do it!!

"WARN A BROTHER" I DO LOVE THAT!! and I LOVE PRINCE!! A lot of ppl in here r sure doggin him, sayin he changes his mind too much, or his music isnt as good nemore...but u cannot compare one genre of music to another genre...jazz aint like pop, and rap aint like rock...they're all different...i'm sure u all know this, yet u still compare Prince from how he was in 1984 to how he is in 2003?!...WHY!?! I'll never know...but i love him netime, newhere, nehow! smile He can change his mind 100 million times and i'll still like him; how he dresses, his looks, music, everything...its how he reinvents himself that keeps him goin til this day. It's the artists that stay the same or do not have near as much talent as P that fade away... So i give much props to P, MJ, & Madonna who r all still makin music today! The charts r not so important (they do look nice having someones name up there and all) but they do NOT mean a person can sing, dance, or play an instrument! AHEM..bubblegum pop...prepackaged stuff for the kiddies, ppl shakin their boom boom in general...makes it to #1 b/c it SELLS...i dont want to name ne names of some of those so called artists, but u know who they r b/c #1 they CANNOT SING LIVE, they have to be in the studio so they can alter their sound...and thats sad b/c it isnt real...sad or just b/c they shake some tail they get an award, or b/c of who they know they get on tv...what kind of sense does that make?? Well i can listen to all kinds of music even some of the bubblegum pop, as long as its catchy but it dies out fast...and its the TRUE ARTIST such as PRINCE that i continually listen over and over b/c the songs never get old and with all his metamorphasis' i never get bored of him! "So P, continue to be YOU baby, that's what i love about u, u ALWAYS DO YO THANG NO MATTER WHAT NEONE ELSE THINKS or SAYS!!!" wink

Bubblegum pop?? Well when Prince was in the charts was that music bubblegum pop?? Bullshit! When you stop getting it your some old man or womyn talking that trash. Quit nagging on them, some of these sold called bubble gum pop groups have already sold more albums than Prince! If they suck so bad and the industry is tricking the public so bad do you really think Prince thinks in his mind he can't compete cause the record co., radio, and Mtv are all against him? Its like shut up old man and crank out some stuff that people can enjoy more than a few listens. Seems like he tried a few times and failed with Ravein2 and Emancipation!! BetUbyeGolly The Greatest why not come out heavier instead of a sappy ballad Wow! When you fall down get up and try again. Bubblegum pop, bawhawhaw, man thats talk for old parents, blah blah like there are no good artists out there that are new.

Instead of "priceless", it should have said "PRINCE-LESS".

Don't come to this site defending bubblegum groups. They may sell a lot of records but, who cares five years later.
Lot's of artist cover Prince's songs and am I sure that this is going to be going on for sometime. No one cares about the amount of records New Kids On The Block sold back in the early 90's.

"Warn a brotha" is hardly a Prince invention. It's been used in another satirical T-shirt, one about warning folks about the police coming.

Hey Realm~did i ever say Prince put out bubblegum music?? No, lol. The difference between him and a lot of those kinds of groups is the fact that Prince actually WRITES, PRODUCES, PERFORMS his own stuff, a lot of ppl out today dont do that. Thats what keeps him a cut above the rest and makes him not bubblegummy. smile Prince doesn't NEED to be in the charts, he's been there, dont that, and down here in Houston, TX where i live, we have radio stations that play his music frequently. I love that b/c i get tired of hearin the same stuff everywhere else. But Realm, I can see that u and i have different tastes in music, (maybe u r more into rock than i am, dunno) b/c i LOVE Emancipation and Rave'...and i just happened to be listenin to my Emancipation cd when i read ur comment to what i said lol. My feelins r not hurt, its cool. Also, I hope that u dont think 85 yrs old! lol, I'm 22 yrs young. wink I love those songs u named "The Greatest.." & "Bet u by golly wow"!! I just like different kinds of music, i LOVE ballads and Prince has a great voice for them. I do like some pop altho my favorite is R&B and i do think there are a lot of new artists that r great too. But i feel that Prince is and will always be one of the BEST!
And Lauren Richardson, i do agree with u on no one really carin about how many records "new kids on the block" sold back then! lol. Hell yeah a lot of ppl cover Prince's songs, that's b/c they know his songs r masterpieces and it'll be a quick way to make a buck on a song that's already a favorite. smile I hope you didn't think I was defendin bubblegum groups, b/c i wasn't. I'm for Prince ALL THE WAY! smile
