Controversy is a seven-piece band that pays tribute to the music of "The Minneapolis Sound." Prince, the Time, Sheila E, The Family, Janet Jackson, Jody Watley, Vanity 6, the Wallets, and Apollonia 6 are just a few of the artists they cover.

Controversy began in the summer of 2000 and has quickly made a name for themselves in the music community of Minneapolis and it's outer-lying regions. Driven by it's tight, funky rhythm section and powerhouse vocals, they are able to accurately recreate the "Minneapolis Sound" of the '80s and early '90s.
