Sansker7's Detroit Review #1 OH MY GOD!!!!
Just got back from the DETROIT show that I wasn't going to till my wife got a ticket for me. Talk about a great seat, 9 rows up from the main floor--pretty good for last minute buying.... Anyhow, the show was one of the best I had seen. I expected the same song arrangement as the last hit-n-run show. Prince played some fantastic arangements instead of the same stuff. Songs like ADORE ( full version) -this was my wedding song, I LOVE U BUT I DON'T TRUST U ANYMORE ( very beautiful live), SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN APRIL, PURPLE RAIN (full version), STILL WILL STAND ALL TIME( a few lines w/millinia those back up singers), HOW COME U DON'T CALL ME ANY MORE (awesome), a few snipets of 3 CHAINES OF GOLD, IF I WAS YOUR GIRLFRIEND, GET OFF, GOD--INSTRUMENTAL. Man, these are just the highlights off the top of my head. What a wonderful time. He still has it. He talked alot to the MOTOR CITY and said it is still his second home. He mentioned alot about how there used to be free radio. How his old friend-- THE ELECTRIFYING MOJO--, used to play all his singles and tell all the tracks and what albumns they were friend. Man, that brought back alot of memories from the past 20 years. The were also selling THE RAINBOW CHILDREN t-shirts for $25. A picture that was shown earlier on this website is correct, pretty cool looking. All in all an excellent time for the DETROIT show. An official aftershow was announced but unfortunately I could not go to that. Hopefully someone else will give a report. Peace and B-Wild SANSKER7 | |
