A recent interview on MTV.com highlights Outkast's choices for a mixtape. Some very different artists get a mention, including Prince

Prince, "Starfish & Coffee"

Andre: I think of Dr. Seuss when I think of "Starfish & Coffee." And I think he's talking about a girl who did drugs in school between butterscotch and ham. Maybe Prince was on drugs, but when I meet him, I'll ask him.

The story is that the girl Prince sings about in the song "Starfish & Coffee" was a girl who was "special" or "challenged". I doubt that Prince would write a song about a girl doing drugs. This is how the stupid Prince rumors get started.

I think "My Little Pill" may be about Prince thinking about what it would be like to do drugs, because he sings the song in first person, using the word "my" instead of "she" or "he". I skip over this song every time. The image of Prince doing drugs and getting high is not very appealing to me.

Is that the same cough that's in the beginning of the video of 'Raspberry Beret'? If that's the same extended mix I agree with you about it being tight! The video is amazing as well. The blue suit he wears with the white clouds is so lovely and all of the animation and the way the people dance when the chorus comes in. Really cool video.
