OK, this has been done before frequently from a variety of sources using a variety of mostly unsatisfactory methods. This time is special, with a difference.

Who better to vote for the toppermost hits (from 1952 to the present day) than you the readers of Guinness World Records BRITISH HIT SINGLES. If you have a copy of the book, chances are you are already immersed in the charts to such an extent that your pop knowledge extends beyond trends and fads both old or modern. In short, you probably appreciate a wide and varied number of the 25,000 hits listed in the book. So, choose your Top 10 to enable us to publish the finest Top 100 chart there has ever been.
