Local Minneapolis Artists Turn Out For LA Reid/Arista Records Party FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Michael Bland, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Among Others Come Out to Support Arista Records Head LA Reid and New Arista Artist "Blue" (Minneapolis, MN 5-17-00) - Tonight at The Quest in downtown Minneapolis, LA Reid, who just replaced Clive Davis of Arista Records, had a listening party for his label's newest songstress, Blue. After the performance there was a private party held in the Ascot room of the club where many local celebrities came to support LA Reid. Michael Bland stopped and spoke with LA about his new group Sons of Almighty and handed The Great Tribulation CD off to him. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were on hand to take pictures and mingle with Blue and LA. The lead singer of Mint Condition and the band's drummer were taking in the scene while local radio personalities like Q Bear made their rounds. It was small and intimate and if I had gotten there earlier, I could give you a review on Blue's performance. I did talk to LA about Blue who said that she will definitely come back to Minneapolis as it is one of the "target market" cities that Blue's music will be readily acceptable. She's sang with everyone from Chaka Khan to Sarah McLaughlin and her style reflects the influence of these artists. I spoke with Blue, who was very excited about the turn out, who told me that she's hitting clubs over the next few weeks in Houston, Atlanta and Miami. I spoke with Terry Lewis about Janet's new album and he said that they are very happy with it's release and look forward to it being another success. In the meantime, be on the look out for a new artist coming out of the Flyte Tyme Studio by the name of Yolanda. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments about this release.
