I wish Prince would do an apple Itunes type of distribution scheme on his website. I'd gladly pay 99 cents per download. He has enough material to do it, why not? And he would also recieve a higher precentage of the profits than through iTunes. Just a thought.

I get "File not found".

Try:

http://www.npgmusicclub.c...Prince.mp3

If that doesn't work, go to the link from the e-mail, http://www.npgmusicclub.c...mslam.html, let the song load, and then copy it from your Internet cache / temporary Internet files (or you can search for the file, like others have stated).

Me, too. I've heard about 150 of his unreleased songs. They seem to come from three periods - the first would be from 1985-87, when it was reported that he almost lived in the studio, making albums like Crystal Ball and Camille. The second time was 1991-1993, around the time that the NPG was newly formed - some of these songs are okay, but I think he was getting bored with recording around this time. The third time was 1994-1996, during the time of the Experience albums - the music that comes from this period shows him climbing back up the musical laddier fiercely.

Also, I think a thing to remember is that the reason some of these songs may be in the vault may not be because he's storing them to be saved and re-recorded. Some, in fact, many, of these songs may be shelved because he didn't like them, but doesn't want to throw them away yet. The vault might just need some cleaning up. Any janitors in the house? Perhaps Prince could hold a Janitor contest, and let the winner go through the vaults for a day and pick as much music from that vault as he wants to.

quite dorthy parker sounding., maybe he heard all hub bub about the SOTT requests and decided to give us a little taste of what else he has stored away on that tip

- The only thing in common with SOTT is the demo-sound. ´The ballad of DP´ was much more edgy and bold. I think he is going in the direction of what guys like Norman Brown and even Rhonada are doing...except for the brilliant guitar solos

- Nobody ever doubted about it. That´s the reason we expect so much from him. The guy that wrote ´When doves cry´, ´If I was your girlfriend´ etc can´t write weak songs.

God, those lyrics are fucking awful. Notice how judgemental they are. There is no freedom in them.

The part about people getting their heads cut off was not funny. A dumb, self-righteous jab against sex outside of marriage. Even though Prince is the biggest poon hound on this side of the bridge.

Prince needs to just quit.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

- I am not an asskisser...but I think the lyrics are a reflection of his moment and life phylosophy. For the people wanting the ´dirty mind´ era lyrics, forget it. He is not 22 year-old anymore, and if you want my opinion, the lyrics of ´Sister´ were pretty ridiculous, and there was lots of freedom there. Freedom is not everything.
If you want rebel guys, search for the teen rock bands out there.

i do like this track a lot. it's catchy and imo it'd fit on one of the local stations. should i send them a copy when it if/becomes available for us to buy?

you suppose our hero employs anyone to make sure all the stations in town get promo copies of his stuff?

Well "free 2 do what I wanna" doesn't mean that we have to agree with him. Or is he only free to do what you want? Regardless, it's a cool little tune.
