Clip of Kylies's cover of "I Feel For You" online

Exclusive to the UK's Radio One FM, you can listen to a clip of Kylie Minogue's cover of I Feel For You, here http://www.bbc.co.uk/radi...ep09.shtml

Kylie talks about being a Prince fan on the website also-
"I was such a Prince fan. In Melbourne, Australia, 14 years old, it was so remote from my world... I'm picturing myself in my bedroom, I didn't have many posters but I did have a little picture of Prince and possibly Adam Ant."

There is also a link to listen to her talk about the song, although when I tried the link wasn't working.

From what I heard, it is quite different sounding to Prince's original and I think some words have been changed.

right, i listened to this on RADIO 1 [uk] last night and she was very complementary about Prince. The track is a tribute to the old Prince and NOT a cover. It is very 85/86 Prince and sounds like an out take or B Side. Whilst it is a funky little track with all the Prince hall marks i.e. minimal sounding, lots of grunts and of course the MPLs chicken scratch guitar on it is not [IMHO] a great song on 1st listen.

Yeah...Kinda like how Prince changed the lyrics on "I Feel 4 U" during the Australian tour last month:

"It's mainly a spirtual thing"

The clip on her website doesn't sound anything like a cover version. It has different lyrics, different melody, etc...different song. Of course it is only a short clip on her website and maybe the rest of the song is different and somehow resembles the Prince version, but I doubt it.

I think Kylie rules (although I don't really like all her output, but that's only me...)

She pretty much does whatever she chooses musically, and hey, she still (or again) rules the charts.

Lots of changes musically over the years, and not afraid to work with cool producers. And by no means a sell-out to the industry - remaining style and dignity!

Hhhhm, couldn't that be a role model for someone...

I heard it in full on Radio 1 today. It's a tribute to Prince but is definitely in no way a cover.

I think that cover was not very good. It didn't sound anything like Prince's song.

These are not cover version at all...

If I am wrong then cover versions are meant to have none of the same lyrics than the original, and sound totally different?

It was wrongly reported in The Daily Mirror that "I Feel For You" was a cover of the Prince song. Turns out that it's just a tribute
