PRINCE PLAYS BIRTHDAY SHOWS
Shop for Prince

His Purpleness Prince is set to celebrate his 43rd birthday by playing a pair of scaled-down shows in Minneapolis next month.
The enigmatic star has announced that the gigs will take place on June 15th and 16th at the Xcel Energy Centre in St. Paul, Minneapolis and tickets go on sale today (Saturday May 19th).
These are very rare shows because Prince has not played in his hometown area since 1997. He did spend most of April playing to audiences in the US on his 'Hit n'Run' tour and has been busy releasing new material online through Napster and his own NPG Music Club.
The intimate dates are thought to be smaller than last year's birthday celebrations, when the singer put on a whole week of events at Paisley Park, his own enormous recording complex. They include parties and exhibitions and drew fans from all over the world. The revelling culminated in a four-hour show by Prince at Northrop Auditorium on the University of Minnesota campus.
