His Name is Prince, and He's No Flunky From the Sydney Morning Herald
His name is Prince, and he's no flunky Author: Bernard Zuel Date: 25/10/2003 Publication: Sydney Morning Herald Section: News And Features As ever, the man born Prince Rogers Nelson said it better: ``My name is Prince and I am funky." Mixing James Brown, Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles and, perhaps incongruously, Joni Mitchell in a package that was equal parts danceable and singable, he was the most talented of the 1980s superstars such as Michael Jackson, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen. So instead of getting a "small" share from a large amount (and that small share was bigger than most artists' share), he now gets a large share of a vastly smaller amount. Except that he still gets money from record released 2 decades ago, yet doesn't from those released in the past half decade. © Bart Van Hemelen

what was the purpose of this story? where is the writer going with this.Yes he can still play better than any of the artist of the 80's, and yes he still puts on the best live shows,so what does money have to do with it. | |
