Oh my ears have heard the sweet music of the man again. This was my third time to be graced w/ his badness. But first thangs first. Melinia was alot better than I was expecting. When they first came out I was not into it, but BAM they started getting the crowed hoppin. Next was the Fonky Bald Heads. Nuff said, They are awesome the crowd was on their feet the whole time. DVS can really work the crowd well. Major props to them and I hope they always keep it real. Now on to the Main Event. Prince walked on stage and the crowed went crazy. Reports say that it was not sold out but was must of been damn close. I could not see an empty seat in the house. The set was the same as everywhere else. I was very surprised with how much he got the crowed into it. First time he let people up on stage my boy Virgin got up on stage left. I was buggin w/ zain. Prince walked pass him and he stuck his hand out and Prince shook it. I went off the wall. He soon made people exit and he went back to doing his thang. Geneva, Wow she puts the B in bend. The crew was hot and I felt that they played everything well. I only saw Prince get mad once and that was because they turned his guitar up alittle to loud during Dove's Cry. During his last set he let more people up on stage w/ the help of his band members and Melinia. Yes it was my time to shine. I was picked and jammed strait to stage left I watch him work it all night and knew he would be back. I had my move on and was throwing out my best moves for the crowd. One of the girls from Melinia walked up and I got my freak on with her for a couple of minutes. Prince finished the song and left to the back of the stage I then turned to Ronda and Kip and gave major props for how well they did. They both said thanks. I walked off the stage and jumped on the banners and threw up a new power sign for a last jester. As I went back into the crowed and joined my wife she said the Prince watched my twice as I was on stage. I even got a little smile while I was in the crowed and I was one of the very few who was throwing up the Power sign. I should say that I was in the third row so I did not look back much. After the show was over they did say that the after party was at the Bricks. I was one of the first people to get there from the show. I went to the front door and asked where the NPGMC members go. They said there was not a VIP area. I then got pissed and started seeing the real Prince come out. I talked to one of the security personal for the Bricks and he said that the guy working the door was from Prince' crew. The cover was 25$ and I was dammed if I was going to fork out another 50$ for this. First 100$ for the membership then 160$ for the tickets. 25$ for a shirt. Then the security guard that I had talked w/ earlier said that there was a list of club members inside and I just had to say my name at the door and I would get checked off. I was again happy w/ the man. He had come through. All in all the best Prince night I have ever had. I guess it tops spending a night a Paisley Park on my Honeymoon. The show was all that. And for all those who say that Prince has lost a step. He played Denver the night before and then Salt Lake City. You cannot get much more altatude then that. And he was jamming and dancing all night long. Big Ups to everyone the represented Salt Lake so well. Iam for sure he'll be back again.
