2nd report from Kansas City Hit n Run Man was Kansas City on fire Sunday Night!!
I made the long journey across state from st louis. when I got there the will call was a pain but once inside u could feel the funk!! The Prince items were selling fast at the merchandise booth and the auditorium was filling up VERY quickly. The warm up bands deserve their props! Okay they weren't the BEST but they're getting there. Milenia had nice voices and most of all looked great on stage!! The Fonky Bald Heads were exactly that.... Fonky and bald!!! These guys knew how to jam. IT was great because it got the crowd loose for Prince. I dont think the auditorium was sold out but the only seats left were behind the stage!! Prince came on around 9:30 and started his thing, NOONE set down from then on out. Once again it was the Hits but me being only 18 years old, I'm glad I still get to hear them! He did play the work pt. 1 but best yet he played the full version of U Make My Sunshine which was wonderful!! Prince was in a great mood the whole night and kept thanking KC for bringing out such a large crowd on short notice. Prince took his time the whole night not rushing anything. the show lasted about 2 hours w/ a wonderful encore of Kiss and Gett Off. Once again He blew my mind away. Hands down he's the best performer!! I will NEVER hesitate to spend my money for a ticket or gas to travel and see him. THANKS PRINCE! shout out to Richard Banks for going w/me. Had a Wonderful time with you, you're a class act.... you 80's PIMP!! | |
