Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band Tour Dates Revealed



(4/19/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- The first dates for the 2001 edition of Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band have been released. This year's lineup features Starr, Mott The Hoople leader Ian Hunter, former Supertramp frontman Roger Hodgson, Greg Lake from King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, '80s synth-pop king Howard Jones, and Latin percussionist (and former Prince sidekick) Sheila E. The first show is set for July 26 at the CasinoRama in Rama, Ontario, and the current schedule has the tour wrapping up in early September in the Western U.S., although a few of the dates are still up in the air.



LAUNCH asked Starr what he gets out of putting together an All-Starr Band every year, and he said: "The big reward is being able to just play live. We give them a 100 percent of what we can do, and so far the joy and the love coming back--it's what makes musicians keep on going, I think."
