4th report from Baltimore Hit n Run

Well I just got back to Kentucky from the Baltimore show at The Lyric. First let me start by telling you the good stuff. Prince introduced us to an all girl group that will be able to tickle our fancy in the years to come.

Next up were The Fonky Bald Heads what a great jammin, fonky start to the evening. Mike Scott at his best as usual and a great all around person. If anybody can hold this band together it is Mike. Prince please put him back in the NPG this is pure talent as I am sure you are aware of...

Finally on to Prince. This was the 42nd time that I have had the chance to allow him to grace the presence of my ears and mind, but to everybody's surprise this review will NOT fall in line with all my others. I won't bore you with the setlist or anything else that most fans will write. Something was misssing last night and as I thought about it on the flight back home I realized what it was and it was a combination of things...

1. Larry Graham was not there.

2. Mike Scott was not in the NPG.

3. Prince did not move as he usually does.

4. Prince ended the concert after only 1hr 35 min.

5. Lots of missing songs (come on, emancipation, lets work, the christ, get off, kiss etc...

6. No hand held keyboards, gun mics etc.....

7. No special lights and props that make you understand what is happening with Prince and where he may be going in the future (like the New Power Soul Tour)

8. Rhonda seemed to be upset and had no emotion HMMMM

There are more things but I won't bore you any longer. This night was not as bad as it may sound just a little disappointing in the SHOW aspect of it all.

Yes I will go see him again and again because this man has made an impact in my life since 1977. Please if you read this Prince take it to heart because I am a true fan (not fanatic) and care about what direction you go in.

Peace I'm Outta Here,

Gary
