Country band covers Purple Rain

Live Dang Good cover by a country band.

Every wednesday night at Cowboys in Arlington, Tx (huge honky-tonk) the band, New Country Blues, pushes a very soulful Purple Rain, not close to the Man's version but the best one I heard as a cover. The singer really gets into it.

Every time I trip on it, for they jam over 10 minutes. I really enjoy the heck out of it. Out of the hundred + concerts I attended, I heard many bands trying not to slaughter THE purple tune, many funked it up by trying too hard.

Those guys, they just play it like it supposed to, without pretention and with respect for the masterpiece. Surprisingly them cowboys and girls voice their joy at the beginning and the end. Prince really goes wide in his audience!

In between country songs, the DJ kicks in with few "dance" songs and every time P-control, Get off or Cream gets to B danced on.

I know that ain't great news but I sure enjoy going there and those Prince tributes are always welcomed by me and them "shit kickers" : )

Maybe I'll see some of U in Little Rock the 22nd

until then may yall have a great day : )
