2nd report from Norfolk Hit n Run (Tuesday)

It was an interesting show last night, definitely an "aftershow" vibe going on.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that they let NPGMC members in before everyone else! I was totally surprised when a person working the venue was walking around asking for club members and said to go to the front of the line. We were given early entry passes and let in to go right to the front of the stage!! Of course everyone else in line that wasn't a member was pissed, but oh well! From then on Prince could have just tapped his foot all night and I would have been happy since I was right in front of the stage.

I saw his set list which was taped on the floor in front of Rhonda, but he threw the whole thing out (maybe because he was having problems with his guitar all night). The set list had 29 songs on it and ended with Joy and Repetition! That would have been awesome, instead he started with Purple Rain, then did his normal selection of songs up to Dorothy Parker. He did incredible versions of The Work and UMMSS (which would have been even better if his guitar was working). After that he just skipped the whole middle section of the show (the ballads, Let's go Crazy thru God) and went straight to the encore part with U Got the Look, Come On, Kiss, and Gett Off. Like I said a very enjoyable show.

After it was over John Blackwell came out and was giving away anything he could find to the people who stayed behind. He handed out all his drum sticks and shook peoples hands. John also seems to be a player. Some girl whispered something in his ear after he gave her a stick, the said to her "I'll come get you later."
